How creative can you get? Attendees at the recent Green Industry Expo saw the response to this challenge in Project EverGreen’s attention-getting SHOVELS display. “The goal of SHOVELS was to graphically show our industry’s determination and enthusiasm toward portraying the importance of green spaces,” said Den Gardner, executive director of Project EverGreen, “and the crowds we drew tell us the project was a big success.”
Gardner explained that to mount the display, Project EverGreen sponsors were asked to donate $1,000. Then, each contributor was given a long-handled shovel donated by Corona Clipper and the challenge to convert it into a depiction of their company and how it enhances green spaces at home, work and play.
“We were gratified at the response,” Gardner said. “Twenty-seven green industry manufacturers, distributors and service providers accepted our SHOVELS challenge. Their creativity translated our important message into a collection of unique art that became not only a highlight of the Expo, but also a powerful medium for conveying our mission.”
Project EverGreen unveiled the SHOVELS ArtWork at a special invitation-only reception on Thursday, November 2, and then exhibited them in the central hall during the Green Industry Expo. The display included the imaginative and attention-getting contributions of these sponsors:
