Show off your beautiful green spaces in
Because Green Matters calendar

Anyone who has ever seen a breathtaking view in nature, watched in awe as the sun came up over the tops of the trees, or simply enjoyed spending time with family in their own backyard oasis, now is the time to share those beautiful spaces by entering Project EverGreen’s Because Green Matters calendar photography contest. This is the third year of this calendar contest.

Project EverGreen is seeking the best photos of all types of well-maintained green spaces-lawns, landscapes, trees, gardens, parks, sports fields and golf courses-for publication it its 2009 calendar. Amateur photographers are invited to visit www.projectevergreen.com to fill out an entry form and upload their photos.

“We welcome all types of photos from amateur photographers,” said Den Gardner, executive director of Project EverGreen. “In the past we’ve received pictures across the spectrum of green spaces, from kids and pets rolling in the grass to beautiful parks and sports fields.”

As Project EverGreen’s mission is to promote the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of green spaces, each entry will be judged on its exemplification of these characteristics. There is no entry fee or payment necessary to win. Winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to a national gardening retailer.

“A picture really speaks to the beauty of the green spaces that bring people joy,” Gardner said. “Our goal is to share that joy with others.”

The 2009 calendar will be sold as a fundraiser.
